TA LoR - Callisto Inks

The inks done for 's contest for her OC, Callisto. YES, that is an Adam's apple. Callisto is a male courtesan who dresses as a woman in a game set during the Italian Renaissance.

I used Botticelli and Raphael as jumping-off points for the hair, and I am reasonably sure I could replicate this style on someone with enough hair. Which pleases me, because it's the third version that I came up with. The first two didn't seem logistically possible!

Because Callisto is from Firenze/Florence, I was thrilled to be able to use that city's very popular hair fashion, a low, jeweled, wrapped ponytail. I think it's a very elegant style and it was immediately recognizeable as Florentine at the time.

I will be coloring this eventually in marker, but I consider this a 'finished' piece. It's drawn on Bristol board and uses three colors of ink--sienna for the skin, umber for the hair, and black for everything else.

Critique is always encouraged and appreciated! I worked hard on this and I'm proud of it, but any feedback would be loved.
